Synopsis

The former archbishop’s house is now a gathering place for intellectuals and writers in a European country. The government is overhearing this house and confiscated the manuscript of Sigmund’s latest novel. Now, Adrian, a liberal American writer, has come to visit Marcus, a writer and an ex-political prisoner who now seems to be working with the government, and Maya, a writer, and actress, to find a solution for Sigmund’s problem: to surrender or leave the country.

About the Performance

In this work, I wanted to test my ability as a director to design a realistic drama. The subject of this work, which deals with intellectuals’ repression by the power structures, was entirely relatable to the society in which I live. This play was my BFA graduation project in the year 2007 at the Faculty of Cinema and Theater.
